During your tour, you’ll be guided by an experienced tour guide. Afterward, you’ll stay overnight in Kathmandu.

  • Day 03: Fly from Kathmandu to Lukla and Trek to Chutang (B, L, D) | 3,020m

After having breakfast early in the morning, you’ll head to the airport for your flight to Lukla. Lukla is where your trek to the Everest and Makalu region starts. From Lukla, you’ll begin walking northeast through a forested trail to Chutang. The trail is pretty flat for about an hour from Lukla, then it goes up a little until you reach Chutang. Along the way, you’ll pass through pasture lands and forests filled with rhododendron and pine trees. You’ll spend the night in Chutang.

  • Day 04: Trek from Chutang to Zatrwa La Pass to Zatrwabok (B, L, D) | 4,704m

After leaving Chutang, you’ll face a challenging trail today that takes you all the way up to the top of Zatrwa La Pass, which is 4,610 meters high. It’s a steep climb of about 1,300 meters to reach the pass, and then a short walk to reach the top. During the autumn season, the trail is usually covered with snow, which can make it difficult to cross the pass without special equipment called crampons. Once you reach the top, you’ll be rewarded with a beautiful view of the entire valley. After that, you’ll descend to Zatrwabok, where you’ll spend the night.

  • Day 05: Trek from Zatrwabok to Kothe (B, L, D) | 3,580m

You’ll hike up through a lush forest filled with juniper and rhododendron trees. Along the way, you’ll be treated to beautiful views of the Mera and Hinku Valleys. While it’s not common to encounter wild animals, you should be ready just in case you see any in the forest. After having lunch at Thakthor, you’ll keep walking along the trail until you reach Kothe, where you’ll spend the night.

  • Day 06: Trek from Kothe to Thangnak (B, L, D) | 4,360m

From Kothe, you’ll walk along the west side of the Hinku Khola river. The uphill trek is quite straightforward and doesn’t take too long. As you ascend, you’ll enjoy impressive views of Kusum Khangkaru mountain (6367m) and the Mera La Pass (5415m). Thangnak is a place where cattle graze during the summer, and it only has basic tea houses and lodges. You’ll spend the night in Thangnak.

  • Day 07: Trek from Thangnak to Khare (B, L, D) | 5,045m

Although the trek involves mostly gentle slopes, the increasing altitude could make it challenging. You’ll hike up through the valley, and you’ll be rewarded with a wonderful view of the Hinku Nup Glacier. After passing Charpate Tal, the trail slopes downward a bit and goes through a sandy area before reaching a steep stream that leads to Dig Kharka. As you continue, the path gradually ascends until you reach Khare. Towards the end of the day, you’ll be treated to a breathtaking view of the northern face of Mera Peak. You’ll spend the night in Khare.

  • Day 08: Rest day at Khare Acclimatization (B, L, D)

Today, you’ll take a break at Khare to adjust to the altitude. The view of Mera Peak (6461m) from your breakfast spot is breathtaking. You can take leisurely walks around the area and prepare for your climb the next day. It’s also a good idea to rest and do some light hiking to get used to the high-altitude conditions of the Himalayas. You’ll spend the night at the Khare Camp.

  • Day 09: Trek from Khare to Mera Peak Base Camp (B, L, D)

Leaving Khare, you’ll trek through a rocky path, climbing steeply until you reach Mera Peak Base Camp. It’s a shorter trek from Khare to the Base Camp. After about 2 to 3 hours of hiking, you’ll reach Mera La Pass (5415m), which offers stunning views of the Himalayas. Along the way, you’ll see mountains like Mt. Everest (8848m), Makalu (8463m), Baruntse (72219m), and Kusum Khangkaru (6367m). Then, you’ll descend to reach the Mera Peak Base Camp, where you’ll spend the night.

  • Day 10: Trek from Base Camp to Mera Peak High Camp (B, L, D) | 5,780m

Today will be an exciting day as you climb from the Base Camp to Mera Peak High Camp, crossing the Mera Glacier along the way. You’ll continue walking along the snow-covered ridges until you reach the High Camp. From there, you’ll be treated to stunning views of the Kanchenjunga Mountain Range in the far east, as well as sights of Everest (8848m), Cho Oyu (8188m), Nuptse (7861m), and Makalu (8463m). • Day 11: Climb Mera Peak and return to Khare (B, L, D) | 6,461m

This day is probably the toughest and most adventurous of the entire trip. We’ll start our push for the summit before dawn. To ensure safety, we’ll need to rope up because of the crevasses along the way to the top. Once we reach the summit, we’ll be rewarded with glorious views of Everest (8,848m), Cho Oyu (8,188m), Lhotse (8,414m), Makalu (8,463m), Kanchenjunga (8,586m), Kangtega (6,685m), Ama Dablam (6,856m), Chamlang (7,319m), Nuptse (7,861m), and Baruntse (7,219m). Afterward, we’ll retrace our steps back to the base camp and head towards Khare, where we’ll spend the night.

  • Day 12: Spare day in case of bad weather (B, L, D)

A spare day is set aside just in case you’re unable to reach the summit on the planned day. This extra day serves as a backup in case of unexpected weather conditions.

  • Day 13: Trek from Khare to Kothe (B, L, D) | 3,580m

You’ll start your journey downhill from Khare to Kothe village. It’s a slow descent that will take about 7 hours of walking through rocky terrain. Along the way, you’ll pass through Thangnak village before reaching Kothe. The path from Thangnak goes alongside the Lungsamba Glacier, passing through meadows and pasturelands until you reach Kothe. Overnight stay in Kothe.

  • Day 14: Trek from Kothe to Zatrwabok (B, L, D) | 4,704m

We’ll follow the same route as earlier, walking through rhododendron and pine forests until we reach Thuli Kharka. Then, we’ll descend a bit more until we reach Zatrwabok. The trail will take us through pleasant forested areas with lots of pine and rhododendron trees. Zatrwabok is situated at the base of the Zatrwa La Pass (4610m). We’ll spend the night in Zatrwabok.

  • Day 15: Trek from Zatrwabok to Chutang (B, L, D) | 3,020m

The path from Zatrwabok to Chutang is rocky and may take around 5 hours to finish. You’ll cross the formidable Zatrwa La Pass (4610m) before reaching Chutang on the other side. The descent from the pass to Chutang is steep, but it’s easier than the uphill climb. We’ll spend the night in Chutang.

  • Day 16: Trek from Chutang to Lukla (B, L, D)

While trekking through the Khumbu valley, you’ll come across lush forests filled with fir, rhododendron, oak, and juniper trees. The path descends all the way until you reach Lukla. Along the way, you’ll be treated to magnificent views of Numbur Himal, Kongde Ri, Karyolung, and other mountain ranges. We’ll spend the night in Lukla.

  • Day 17: Fly from Lukla to Kathmandu (B) |1,300m
