  • Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu (1300m)

    Upon your arrival at Tribhuban International Airport (TIA), you will be warmly welcomed by a representative from our company who will escort you to your hotel for check-in. Take some time to relax and unwind after your journey. Later, you will join us for a trek briefing where our team will provide you with all the necessary information about your upcoming adventure. Rest well and enjoy your overnight stay at the hotel in Kathmandu.

  • Day 02: Kathmandu Sightseeing and Trek Preparation

    Start your day with an exciting sightseeing tour of Kathmandu, exploring its vibrant culture and heritage. Begin with a visit to Kathmandu Durbar Square, where you can marvel at ancient temples and palaces. Then, head to the sacred Pashupatinath temple to experience the spiritual atmosphere. Afterward, visit the iconic Swayambhunath and Boudhanath stupas to soak in their serene ambiance.

    In the afternoon, take a leisurely stroll through the bustling Thamel market, where you can find any last-minute essentials you may need for your trek.   • Day 03: Drive to Pokhara (820m) 6-7 Hrs

    Begin your day bright and early with a call to adventure as you embark on a journey to Pokhara. A friendly company representative will accompany you as you set out on a scenic 7-hour road trip from Kathmandu. As you leave the bustling Kathmandu valley behind, you’ll be treated to breathtaking views of the rugged hillsides along the way.

    The road to Pokhara is adorned with stunning landscapes that rival the beauty of the city itself. Nestled in a picturesque valley beside the serene Phewa Lake, Pokhara awaits with its tranquil charm. Upon arrival, check into your hotel and be greeted by awe-inspiring vistas of the towering Annapurna and majestic Machhapuchhre mountains.   • Day 04: Drive from Pokhara to Nayapul |1.5 Hrs and trek to Ulleri (2070m)|3-4 Hrs

    On this exciting day, your Annapurna Base Camp trek officially begins. You’ll kick off your adventure by embarking on a scenic ride from Pokhara to Nayapul aboard a private vehicle. Upon reaching Nayapul, you’ll cross over the Nayapul River and set foot on the trekking trail.

    As you make your way through Sudame and Tikhedhunga, you’ll soon encounter the renowned Ulleri steps, a challenging yet rewarding part of the journey. Ascending these steps can be quite tiring, but the breathtaking views and the promise of reaching the beautiful Magar village of Ulleri will keep you motivated. Finally, after a day filled with adventure and exploration, you’ll settle in for a well-deserved overnight stay in Ulleri, surrounded by the serene beauty of the Himalayan landscape.

  • Day 05: Trek to Ghorepani (2860m) 5-6 Hrs

    The day begins with a picturesque morning in Ulleri, situated in the lower Annapurna valley. You’ll set out on your trek towards the charming village of Ghorepani, surrounded by stunning natural beauty.

    The trail leads you through a gradual ascent, winding its way through lush oak forests adorned with occasional sightings of rhododendron groves. As you make your way past scenic spots like Banthanti and Nangethanti, you’ll be treated to unforgettable views and immersive experiences along the way. Finally, you’ll arrive at Ghorepani, where you’ll spend the night, surrounded by the tranquil ambiance of the Himalayan landscape.

  • Day 06: Trek to Tadapani (2630m) via early morning Poonhill Hike for Sunrise (3193m)

    Rise early to catch the mesmerizing sunrise casting its golden glow over the majestic Himalayan peaks. Embark on a scenic hour-long climb from Ghorepani to the summit of Poon Hill, where you’ll be greeted by breathtaking panoramic views. The tranquil morning atmosphere and stunning vistas make for an unforgettable experience.

    After soaking in the beauty of Poon Hill, descend along the same trail back to Ghorepani before continuing your journey to Tadapani. Traverse through Deurali pass and descend to Ban Thanti, passing through enchanting bamboo forests and stone-paved trails along the way. Finally, arrive at Tadapani, where you’ll spend the night amidst the serene surroundings of the Himalayan landscape.

  • Day 07: Trek to Chhomrong (2170m)

    We set off towards Chhomrong village, heading southeast from Tadapani. The day begins with a descent for the first half of the trek, offering stunning views of Machhapuchhre (6997m) as we leave Tadapani behind. After crossing the river, we steadily climb along a leisurely trail to reach Chhomrong. This charming village serves as the gateway to Annapurna Base Camp and is a popular stop for trekkers exploring the region. Overnight stay in Chhomrong.

  • Day 08: Trek to Himalaya (2920m)

    Begin your day in Chhomrong by witnessing the sunrise illuminate the Annapurna range, setting a breathtaking scene for the day ahead. The trek starts with a climb, followed by a descent along beautifully crafted stone steps. As you cross gentle streams via wooden bridges, you’ll traverse through a serene bamboo forest on your way to Himalaya Hotel. Enjoy the tranquility of the surroundings as you settle in for the night at Himalaya Hotel.

  • Day 09: Trek to Annapurna Base Camp (4130m)

    Embark on a challenging yet rewarding day of trekking, commencing with a climb to Hinku cave. This awe-inspiring experience allows you to marvel at the towering Himalayas from a unique vantage point. Afterward, proceed to Deurali, soaking in the serene surroundings before reaching the base of the sacred Mt. Machhapuchhre (Fishtail|6997m). Take in the majestic beauty of the snow-capped cliffs as you trek along the foothills of these colossal mountains for a couple of hours. Finally, arrive at the pinnacle of the journey, Annapurna Base Camp (4130m), where you’ll spend the night surrounded by breathtaking vistas.

  • Day 10: Trek to Bamboo (2310m)

    Embark on a long day of retracing our steps back from the Annapurna Base Camp and Annapurna Sanctuary, as we make our way to Bamboo. The journey involves a significant descent, with intermittent stops at Deurali, Himalaya Hotel, and Dobhan along the way. As we trek alongside the Modi Khola riverbank, the village of Bamboo comes into view, where we’ll spend the night.

  • Day 11: Trek to Jhinu Danda/Hot Spring (1780m)

    Returning along the ABC trail, we set our sights on Jhinu Danda for our next stop. The journey treats us to a welcoming trail through bamboo and rhododendron forests, offering an exhilarating downhill trek. Passing through Chhomrong village, we press on towards Kuldighar before diverging from our initial path to follow the trail leading to Jhinu Danda. While the steep descent may test our tired legs, the promise of natural hot springs at Jhinu Danda awaits as the perfect remedy after long days on the trail. Overnight stay at Jhinu Danda.

  • Day 12: Trek to Nayapul and drive back to Pokhara (820m)

    Concluding our trek along the ABC trail, we embark on the journey back to our starting point, Nayapul. The trail leads us gradually downhill, passing through Kyumi and Siwai, a central junction in this intricate web of paths. Continuing on, we reach Birethanti, where we head southward amidst terraced fields until we reach Nayapul. After approximately 5 hours of trekking from Jhinu Danda, we arrive at Nayapul, bidding farewell to the trails. From there, we catch a ride back to Pokhara, where we’ll spend the night at a hotel.

  • Day 13: Travel back to Kathmandu and Farewell Dinner

    As we conclude our exploration of the Annapurna region, we board a company vehicle in Pokhara, beginning our journey back to Kathmandu. Along the way, we bid farewell to the picturesque scenery of lush green hills and majestic snow-capped peaks, cherishing the memories of our time spent amidst these natural wonders. Passing through towns like Damauli, Dumre, and Mugling, we eventually reach Kathmandu. In the evening, we gather for a farewell dinner at an authentic Nepali restaurant, reflecting on our adventures and experiences. Overnight, we stay at a hotel in Kathmandu.

  • Day 14: Final departure towards your destination

    On the last day of your unforgettable journey in Nepal, a representative from Mountain Trail Nepal will arrive at your hotel to escort you to Tribhuvan International Airport. Please ensure that you are ready 3 hours before your scheduled flight departure. Use this time to inquire about any future trips or adventures you may have in mind. As you bid farewell to Nepal, take with you the cherished memories and experiences of your time here. FAQs

  • What are the visa requirements?

    Currently, all the foreign nationalities (except Indians) require a visa to enter Nepal. Visas are obtainable from embassies abroad or on arrival at Kathmandu’s Airport. If getting the visa at the airport be prepared for long queues. You will also need to provide one passport photo and the $50 USD fee for 30 days.

  • What are the physical requirements?

    Annapurna Basecamp Trek requires you to trek at an altitude of maximum 4130m and up to 5- 7 hours per day, with a small 5-7kg bag. We recommended you to train with long hikes and/or a sport of your choice (e.g. jogging).

  • Do I need insurance before the Trek?

    Yes, you need to be insured before the adventure trekking in Nepal from your home country. However, we will be always with you taking care of throughout the whole Annapurna Basecamp trek.

  • How old do I need to be?

    There is no age restriction for doing this trip, but if you are under 16 it will better to trek with your parents. You must be health-conscious during the trek.

  • Is there any Bank or ATM facility during Annapurna Basecamp Trek?

    Yes, there is a good facility of bank and ATM in Pokhara and Nayapul.

  • What currency should I take?

    The currency used in Nepal is Nepalese Rupees (NPR). You are unable to get NPR outside of Nepal and therefore you will need to exchange money in Kathmandu. The easiest currency to exchange is USD and Euro. You can also withdraw NPR from the ATM but check with your bank about the relevant charges to do this.

  • What is the accommodation like?

    You will stay in the Hotel while you are in the city of Kathmandu, which is like a 3-star category. The hotel has access to showers and intermittent internet.

    But while you are in trekking Tea House/lodges are the place where you spend the night during the trek, which is very basic. The room is pretty small with twin sharing and a common washroom. Some places have squat style toilets, whilst others have a western style. Shower does not always offer warm water and most teahouses will charge you for use of a hot shower.

  • Which meals are included?

    Meals will be served as per the menu of the teahouse/lodges. Where you can find a variety of dishes like Indian, Nepalese, Tibetan, Continental, etc, to choose. Tea, coffee, bakery items, snacks, bars eggs, etc can also be found easily.

  • What is the best time of year for Annapurna Basecamp Trek?

    Annapurna Basecamp Trek is possible for the whole year, but the best time to doing this trek is spring season (March to May) and autumn season (September to November).

    However trekking in winter season to chance to see snowfall with magnificent views of mountain, and in monsoon time you will see waterfalls.

  • What kind of problems can arise at a higher altitude?

    There is a huge change of AMS problem i.e. Acute Mountain Sickness problem. It may cause some problems as you trek higher above 3500-meter altitude (11,482 ft.). But don’t worry about that. We have carefully designed our Annapurna Basecamp trek itinerary with sufficient time for acclimatization and less walking time each day. And our experienced trek guide will be helping you with it.
