Annapurna Circuit Trek
The Annapurna Circuit Trek is a famous and stunning adventure in Nepal. It takes you all around the Annapurna mountains, letting you experience the diverse landscapes and cultures of the region. Along the way, you’ll pass through lush forests, charming villages, and encounter the rich heritage of the Annapurna area.
Your 20-day journey begins in Kathmandu, where you’ll have a short stay to explore the historic and cultural sites of the city. Then, you’ll drive to Bhulbhule via Besisahar to start your trek. The trail follows the Marsayangdi River, taking you through dense forests and rugged gorges. As you climb higher, you’ll encounter villages inhabited by Gurung and Magar ethnic groups, and spot wildlife like Danphe birds, Langur monkeys, and jackals in the rhododendron and bamboo forests.
Passing through charming villages like Chame, Pisang, and Manang, you’ll experience the unique culture and traditions of the local communities, including visits to ancient monasteries. The highlight of the trek is reaching the mighty Thorang La Pass, one of the highest in the world at 5,416 meters.
After crossing the pass, you’ll descend to Muktinath, a sacred site for Hindus and Buddhists. Then, you’ll journey through the Kali Gandaki valley, home to the deepest gorge in the world. Before concluding your trek at Nayapul, you’ll hike up to Poon Hill to witness a breathtaking sunrise and enjoy panoramic views of the snow-capped mountains.
The best times to embark on this adventure are autumn (September to November) and spring (March to May) when the weather is pleasant and the skies are clear.

Day 01: Arrive in Kathmandu | 1300m
Upon your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA), our friendly representative will be there to greet you. You’ll then be taken to your hotel where you can settle in and perhaps enjoy some light sightseeing in the nearby area. Rest well for the night at the hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 02: Kathmandu sightseeing tour and trek preparation
After breakfast, you’ll meet our knowledgeable tour guide in the hotel lobby. They’ll provide you with an overview of the day’s itinerary, including some interesting historical insights about the places you’ll visit. Our company van will then take you on a sightseeing tour around the valley, where you’ll visit iconic sites such as Swayambhunath, Kathmandu Durbar Square, Pashupatinath, and Boudhanath. While you’re out exploring, we’ll take care of arranging any necessary permits and documents for your upcoming trek. If you’ve forgotten to pack anything essential, don’t worry – you can always pick it up at the market. After an eventful day, you’ll return to the hotel for an overnight stay in Kathmandu.

Day 03: Drive from Kathmandu to Bhulbhule via Besisahar| 840m | 6-7 hrs and Trek to Ngadi | 930m
In the early morning, we embark on a picturesque drive to Bhulbhule. Along the way, we take a brief stop at Besisahar for lunch. Besisahar, known as the district capital, boasts a bustling market where you can find various goods. Once we reach Bhulbhule, our trek commences, leading us through lush tropical trees and terraced fields until we reach Ngadi. Here in Ngadi, you can make any final preparations needed for the trek ahead. We’ll spend the night in Ngadi, resting up for the journey ahead.

Day 04: Trek to Jagat | 1300m
The trail takes us on a steady climb to Bahundanda, a quaint village with several shops and teahouses. As we leave Bahundanda behind, the path descends to Syange, where we cross the Marsayangdi River via a suspension bridge. Continuing our trek alongside the serene river, we then ascend to reach the village of Jagat. Here in Jagat, we’ll spend the night, resting up for the next leg of our journey.

Day 05: Trek to Dharapani | 1860m
Today’s trek kicks off with a leisurely stroll through lush farmlands and dense forests of rhododendron and bamboo. Our journey takes us through the charming village of Chamje before ascending to the picturesque Tal village, marking our entry into the Manang district. Continuing onward, we reach Dharapani, where our permits are checked, as this town serves as the boundary between the Annapurna and Manaslu conservation areas. We’ll spend the night in Dharapani, resting and rejuvenating for the adventures ahead.

Day 06: Trek to Chame | 2670m
Leaving Dharapani behind, we embark on our journey towards Chame. The trail initially follows the Marsayangdi river valley, leading us through serene forests, ridges, and settlements. Along the way, we are treated to breathtaking views of the Annapurna and Lamjung mountains. As we continue, the path descends back to the river, guiding us through terraced fields before a final ascent brings us to Chame.

Day 07: Trek to Pisang | 3300m
Leaving Chame, we ascend along a steep and narrow path through dense forests, eventually reaching a dramatically curved rock. As we continue, the valley unfolds before us, revealing magnificent mountain vistas. Passing through Danakyu and Koto along the way, we press on towards Pisang. Here, we are treated to stunning views of Annapurna II (7,937 m) and Pisang Peak (6,091 m). We rest for the night in Pisang, surrounded by the awe-inspiring beauty of the Himalayas.

Day 08: Trek to Manang | 3540m
Today’s trekking route treats us to breathtaking views of the surrounding landscapes and majestic peaks. We journey past the abandoned Manang airport, continuing through an expansive open valley. Along the way, we encounter Braga, where we’re greeted by Buddhist shrines and the impressive Braga Monastery. Eventually, we reach the bustling settlement of Manang, where we settle in for the night, surrounded by the awe-inspiring beauty of the Himalayas.

Day 09: Rest day at Manang for acclimatization with short hikes
To help your body acclimate to the high altitude, today is dedicated to rest and relaxation in Manang. You have the option to take short hikes around the village or visit Gangapurna Lake, soaking in the serene surroundings. Exploring the monasteries of Manang offers valuable insights into the local culture and traditions. It’s essential to take it easy and allow your body time to adjust before continuing the trek. Overnight stay in Manang.

Day 10: Trek to Yak Kharka | 4050m
Following your acclimatization in Manang, you proceed towards the challenging Thorung La Pass (5416m). The journey begins with a trek through the older part of Manang, ascending through Ghunsang until you reach the expansive meadow of Yak Kharka. Here, you’ll encounter picturesque scenes of yaks grazing in the lush pasturelands, offering excellent opportunities for photography. Overnight stay at Yak Kharka.

Day 11: Trek to Thorang La High Camp or Phedi | 4925m
Today’s trek is relatively short but offers breathtaking mountain vistas. You journey towards the base of the high pass and begin preparations for tomorrow’s ascent. While many trekkers opt to use Thorung Phedi as a base camp, you have the option to spend the night at lodges near the Marsayangdi River. Overnight stay at Thorung La High Camp.

Day 12: Trek over Thorung La | 5416m| to Muktinath| 3,800 m
You wake up early to begin the climb to Thorung La Pass (5416m). The trail steepens after leaving Phedi but remains manageable. From the pass’s summit, you’re treated to sweeping views of the Annapurna Mountains, Thorung Peak (6144m), and the Kali Gandaki valley. After descending from the pass, you follow a wide trail that leads you to the sacred temple of Muktinath. Overnight stay at Muktinath.

Day 13: Trek to Kagbeni| 2810m
In the morning, you explore the holy Muktinath temple and pay a visit to the nearby Vishnu temple. The temple area also features several Buddhist gompas, adding to its cultural richness. Afterward, you resume your trek by descending from the hill into the scenic Kali Gandaki gorge. Following a sandy and windy trail, you arrive at Kagbeni for your overnight stay.

Day 14: Trek to Marpha| 2670m
You continue your journey by following the flat and sandy trail from Kagbeni to Jomsom, which serves as the capital of the Mustang district. After a brief stop in Jomsom, you resume trekking and proceed to the charming apple village of Marpha. Here, you have the opportunity to indulge in the delicious local apples and try the renowned local alcoholic beverage named after the village – Marpha. Enjoy your overnight stay in Marpha.

Day 15: Trek to Kalopani| 2530m
After departing from Marpha, you take a new route towards Kalopani. Along the way, you’ll pass through traditional Thakali villages and enjoy views of majestic mountain peaks like Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, and Nilgiri. Following the riverbed of Kali Gandaki, you’ll pass through Tukuche and Larjung before reaching Kalopani for your overnight stay.

Day 16: Trek to Tatopani| 1190m
The journey is relatively easy, mostly downhill, and takes you through lush subtropical forests. If time allows, you’ll also have the chance to visit the beautiful Rupse waterfall along the route. Upon reaching Tatopani, you can enjoy a soothing soak in the natural hot springs, known for their relaxation benefits and skin-healing properties. Overnight accommodation will be arranged in Tatopani.

Day 17: Trek to Ghorepani| 2880m
Today’s journey takes you to Ghasa as you head to the eastern side of the Kali Gandaki River. The trail is a steady climb through picturesque rural settlements, terraced farmlands, and enchanting rhododendron forests. After a while, you’ll ascend a ridge and arrive at Ghorepani, a charming Gurung village known for its warm hospitality. You’ll spend the night here, surrounded by the serene ambiance of Ghorepani.

Day 18: Early morning hike to Poon Hill| 3193m| and trek to Nayapul | 1070m| 4hrs and drive to Pokhara | 820m
Rise and shine! Today begins with an early morning hike to Poon Hill, a renowned vantage point offering breathtaking views of the sunrise over the majestic snow-capped mountains. From here, you’ll be treated to panoramic vistas of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges up close. After soaking in the beauty of nature, you’ll return to Ghorepani for a hearty breakfast before embarking on a downhill trek to Nayapul. From Nayapul, a short drive will take you to Pokhara, the vibrant tourist hub of Nepal. You’ll spend the night at a cozy hotel in Pokhara, surrounded by the serene beauty of the city.

Day 19: Drive back to Kathmandu afternoon free at leisure and farewell dinner
After bidding farewell to Pokhara, you embark on a picturesque drive along the Prithvi Highway, soaking in the scenic views of rural life and landscapes. Upon reaching Kathmandu, you have the option to relax in your hotel room or explore the bustling city streets for last-minute gifts and souvenirs. In the evening, you reunite with your fellow travelers for a special farewell dinner hosted by the company, where you can reminisce about your incredible journey. You’ll spend your final night in Kathmandu at a comfortable hotel, cherishing the memories made during your adventure.

As your 20-day adventure draws to a close, enjoy a hearty breakfast before our company representative accompanies you to the airport, ensuring you arrive with ample time before your flight.
