From Nayapul, you’ll hike uphill through lush sub-tropical forests to Ulleri, then climb stone steps to reach Ghorepani village. An early morning hike to Poon Hill offers a stunning sunrise and panoramic views of Annapurna I, Machhapuchhre, Nilgiri, and Hiunchuli.

Descending from Ghorepani, you’ll trek to Tadapani and then to the traditional Gurung village of Ghandruk, before returning to Nayapul.   • Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu (1300m)

    Upon your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, our friendly representative will be there to greet you. They will accompany you to your hotel, ensuring a smooth and comfortable transition. Once you’ve settled in, you’ll have the opportunity to meet with your trek guide to discuss the upcoming adventure. Afterward, you can explore Kathmandu and take care of any last-minute shopping for trekking gear or accessories. Rest assured, you’ll enjoy a relaxing overnight stay at the hotel in Kathmandu.

  • Day 02: Kathmandu Sightseeing

    Today, you’ll embark on a fascinating journey to explore the UNESCO World Heritage Sites nestled within Kathmandu. These sites include the sacred Pashupatinath, the iconic Swayambhunath Stupa, the majestic Boudhanath Stupa, and the historical Kathmandu Durbar Square. Kathmandu, known for its rich cultural heritage, offers a captivating blend of religious diversity and architectural marvels.   • Day 03: Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara | 820m

    After enjoying breakfast at your hotel, get ready for an exciting road trip to Pokhara City, located to the west of Kathmandu. As you journey along the Prithvi Highway, you’ll be treated to breathtaking views of the Trishuli River, verdant forested hills, and vibrant towns dotting the landscape. The winding roads of Nepal add an adventurous touch to your scenic ride. Upon reaching Pokhara, you’ll be greeted by the awe-inspiring sight of Machhapuchhre (6997m) and Annapurna I (8091m) towering majestically in the distance. Prepare to be enchanted by the natural beauty of this touristic city. You’ll spend the night at a cozy accommodation in Pokhara, soaking in the tranquil ambiance of this picturesque destination.

  • Day 04: Drive from Pokhara to Nayapul | 2 Hrs and trek to Ulleri | 1960m | 4-5 Hrs.

    Just a short 1.5-hour drive northwest of Pokhara along the Baglung Highway brings you to Nayapul, your entry point to the Annapurna Conservation Area and the starting point of your trek. After a quick break to freshen up, you’ll set out on your trekking adventure. The trail leads you uphill, passing through charming villages like Birethanti, Lamdawali, Sudame, and Hile along the way. After stopping for lunch in Hile, you’ll continue your journey towards Ulleri, where you’ll spend the night.

  • Day 05: Trek from Ulleri to Ghorepani | 2880m

    The next leg of your journey starts with a challenging ascent up the stone steps from Ulleri village. While it may be tough for some trekkers, taking breaks along the way will make it manageable. These well-laid stone steps lead directly to Ghorepani village, where you’ll be rewarded with breathtaking views of Dhaulagiri, Nilgiri, and the Annapurna massif. Along the way, you’ll pass through charming villages like Banthanti and Nangethanti before reaching Ghorepani for your overnight stay.

  • Day 06: Hike to Poon Hill for sunrise | 3193m | 1 Hr. and trek from Ghorepani to Tadapani | 2630m | 5-6 Hrs.

    From Ghorepani, a short and easy hike of about an hour will take you to Poon Hill. It’s worth waking up early for this excursion! At Poon Hill, you’ll ascend to the local watchtower to witness the breathtaking sunrise over the Annapurna, Machhapuchhre, Nilgiri, Himalchuli, and Dhaulagiri peaks. After soaking in the panoramic views, you’ll return to Ghorepani for breakfast before continuing your trek to Tadapani village. The trail meanders through lush rhododendron forests, offering a serene and picturesque journey. Your day concludes with an overnight stay in Tadapani.

     

  • Day 07: Trek from Tadapani to Ghandruk | 1960m

    Leaving Tadapani behind, you’ll venture further up the trail, winding through the enchanting rhododendron forest toward Ghandruk. As you trek, you’ll be immersed in the diverse flora and fauna of the Annapurna Conservation Area (ACAP), adding to the natural beauty of the journey. Ghandruk awaits to the southeast of Tadapani. Along the way, you’ll pause for a satisfying lunch break at Bhaisi Kharka before pressing on to Ghandruk. Your day concludes with a restful overnight stay in Ghandruk.

  • Day 08: Trek from Ghandruk to Nayapul and drive to Pokhara | 820m | 2 Hrs.

    Ghandruk, being the headquarters of the Annapurna Conservation Area, is steeped in the rich cultural heritage of the Gurung community. You’ll have the opportunity to explore this heritage by visiting the local Gurung museum and perhaps taking a hike to a nearby temple, soaking in the essence of the region. Afterward, you’ll embark on a leisurely downhill trek along stone steps that lead you to Nayapul. From there, you’ll catch transportation back to Pokhara, where you’ll spend the night at a hotel, reflecting on the memorable experiences of your trek.

  • Day 09: Drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu and Farewell Dinner

    As you bid farewell to the scenic beauty of Pokhara, you’ll journey back to Kathmandu. Along the way, you’ll be treated to majestic views of Machhapuchhre and Annapurna I, serving as a poignant reminder of the natural wonders you’ve experienced. The drive will wind through lush forested hills, breathtaking gorges, and charming towns nestled along the Trishuli River. Upon reaching Kathmandu, you’ll check into your hotel and later in the evening, our representative will escort you to one of the finest diners in the city for a memorable farewell dinner. It’s a fitting end to your adventure-filled journey through the Annapurna region.

  • Day 10: Departure from Kathmandu

    On your departure day, our representative will ensure you reach the airport in a timely manner, departing approximately 2 hours earlier than your flight’s scheduled time.   • What are the visa requirements?

    Currently, all the foreign nationalities (except Indians) require a visa to enter Nepal. Visas are obtainable from embassies abroad or on arrival at Kathmandu’s Airport. If getting the visa at the airport be prepared for long queues. You will also need to provide one passport photo and the $50 USD fee for 30 days.

  • What are the physical requirements for Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek?

    Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek requires you to trek at an altitude of maximum 3193m and up to 5- 7 hours per day, with a small 5-7kg bag. We recommended you to train with long hikes and/or a sport of your choice (e.g. jogging).

  • How old do I need to be?

    There is no age restriction for doing this trip, but if you are under 16 it will better to trek with your parents. You must be health-conscious during the trek.

  • What is the accommodation like?

    You will stay in the Hotel while you are in the city of Kathmandu, which is like a 3-star category. The hotel has access to showers and intermittent internet.

    But while you are in trekking Tea House/lodges are the place where you spend the night during the trek, which is very basic. The room is pretty small with twin sharing and a common washroom. Some places have squat style toilets, whilst others have a western style. Shower does not always offer warm water and most teahouses will charge you for use of a hot shower.

  • Which meals are included?

    Meals will be served as per the menu of the teahouse/lodges. Where you can find a variety of dishes like Indian, Nepalese, Tibetan, Continental, etc, to choose. Tea, coffee, bakery items, snacks, bars eggs, etc can also be found easily.

  • What currency should I take?

    The currency used in Nepal is Nepalese Rupees (NPR). You are unable to get NPR outside of Nepal and therefore you will need to exchange money in Kathmandu. The easiest currency to exchange is USD and Euro. You can also withdraw NPR from the ATM but check with your bank about the relevant charges to do this.

  • Is there any Bank or ATM facility during Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek?

    Yes, there is a good facility of bank and ATM in Pokhara and Nayapul.

  • What kind of problems can arise at a higher altitude during Ghorepani Poonhill Trek?

    There is a huge change of AMS problem i.e. Acute Mountain Sickness problem. It may cause some problems as you trek higher above 3500-meter altitude (11,482 ft.). But don’t worry about that. We have carefully designed our Ghorepani Poonhill Trek itinerary with sufficient time for acclimatization and less walking time each day. And our experienced trek guide will be helping you with it.
