Your 16-day journey begins in Kathmandu with a full day of cultural sightseeing at UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Then, you’ll travel west to Pokhara, a popular tourist city, and further northwest to Nayapul to start the trek. Along the way, you’ll pass through Gurung villages like Ghandruk and Tadapani before venturing off the beaten path to Dobato.
Trekking through lush rhododendron forests, you’ll head north to Khopra Danda or Khopra Ridge, where you’ll be treated to breathtaking views of the Annapurna massif, Dhaulagiri, Nilgiri Himal, and Khopra Lake. This peaceful environment offers a relaxing retreat.
After enjoying the scenery, you’ll retrace your steps and descend to charming Magar and Gurung villages like Ghorepani. The trek continues to Mohare Danda, Nangi, and Banskharka before concluding at Galeshwar. The Khopra Danda trail is relatively new, so you’ll encounter fewer tourists, allowing you to truly immerse yourself in the beauty of the surroundings.

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu | 1300m
Upon your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, our team will be there to greet you and transfer you to your hotel. After settling in, you can take some time to relax and then venture out to explore the vibrant city of Kathmandu. Immerse yourself in the rich Newari culture that defines the valley. Day 02: Kathmandu Sightseeing
Today, you’ll embark on an exciting sightseeing tour of the Kathmandu Valley. Our itinerary includes visits to several UNESCO World Heritage Sites such as Kathmandu Durbar Square, Boudhanath, Swayambhunath, and Pashupatinath. These sites are adorned with ancient temples, majestic palaces, and intricate architectural wonders that reflect Nepal’s rich cultural heritage. You’ll have the opportunity to explore bustling markets, observe traditional rituals, and soak in the spiritual ambiance of these sacred places. After a day filled with exploration, you’ll return to your hotel in Kathmandu for an overnight stay.

Day 03: Drive to Pokhara (820m)
After enjoying a delicious breakfast in the morning, we’ll begin our journey towards the picturesque city of Pokhara. Situated approximately 141 kilometers west of Kathmandu, Pokhara is renowned for its breathtaking natural beauty and tranquil atmosphere. As we travel by road, you’ll be treated to scenic views of rolling hills, majestic mountains, and the meandering Trishuli River. Upon reaching Pokhara, you’ll be greeted by the majestic sight of towering peaks, including the iconic Machhapuchhre (6997m) and Annapurna I (8091m). We’ll settle into our accommodations in Pokhara, where you can unwind and soak in the serene surroundings. Day 04: Drive to Nayapul and Trek to Ghandruk (1940m)
Today, we’ll journey northwest from Pokhara to the quaint town of Nayapul, situated alongside the Baglung Highway. Nayapul serves as the starting point for two renowned treks: the Annapurna Base Camp Trek and the Ghorepani Trek. From Nayapul, we’ll follow the well-trodden path northward and trek to the charming village of Ghandruk. Known for its preserved ethnic charm, lifestyle, and traditions, Ghandruk offers a glimpse into the rich Gurung culture of mid-western Nepal. Prepare to immerse yourself in the beauty of this picturesque village as we settle in for an overnight stay in Ghandruk.

Day 05: Trek to Tadapani (2630m)
Continuing our trek, we will head westward towards the village of Tadapani, located approximately 6 kilometers from Ghandruk with a slight detour. Along the way, we will pass through lush rhododendron forests, adding to the scenic beauty of our journey. Tadapani is a popular stop for travelers, known for its abundance of lodges and bustling atmosphere with both locals and tourists. Keep an eye out for mules, which are commonly used as porters in this area. We will spend the night in Tadapani, resting and rejuvenating for the adventures ahead.

Day 06: Trek to Dobato (3350m)
The path from Tadapani to Dobato is a relatively new trail, designed to provide access to the renowned Khopra Danda. This scenic route offers breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains, hills, and forests, as well as opportunities to explore culturally rich villages. Trekking along this off-the-beaten-path trail provides a unique and immersive experience of Nepal’s natural beauty and local culture. We will spend the night in Dobato, surrounded by the tranquility of the mountains.

Day 07: Trek to Chistibang (3000m)
In the morning, you have the option to visit Muldai View Point, which is just a 30-minute hike from Dobato. From the top, you’ll be treated to a stunning panorama of the Annapurna massif. After enjoying breakfast back at Dobato, our trek continues towards the village of Chistibang. The trail is uneven and takes us through dense rhododendron forests. Along the way, we’ll pass Bayeli Kharka, where you can enjoy close-up views of the majestic Dhaulagiri range. Chistibang is predominantly inhabited by the Magar community. We’ll spend the night there, surrounded by the beauty of the Himalayan landscape.

Day 08: Trek to Khopra Danda (3640m)
After breakfast, we’ll set off on our trek, which involves a steady uphill climb. Make sure you’re well-rested and energized for the journey ahead. Along the way, keep an eye out for exotic wildlife such as the Himalayan Thar and the Lophophorus, Nepal’s national bird. As we ascend, we’ll be rewarded with breathtaking views of the Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, Nilgiri, and Bahra Shikhar mountain ranges. We’ll spend the night at Khopra Danda, soaking in the magnificent scenery all around us.

Day 09: Trek to Swanta (2050m)
Once we’ve enjoyed the stunning views from Khopra Danda, it’s time to start our descent. We’ll follow the same path back towards Chistibang, retracing our steps through the picturesque landscape. After a hearty lunch at Kharka, which is just an hour below Chistibang, we’ll continue our descent towards the charming village of Swanta. The trail will lead us through various detours, each offering its own unique scenery. Eventually, we’ll arrive at Swanta village, a peaceful Magar community nestled in a tranquil setting. We’ll spend the night here, soaking in the serene atmosphere of the village.

Day 10: Trek to Ghorepani (2860m)
Today’s journey takes us downhill to the renowned Gurung village of Ghorepani. The trek from Swanta to Ghorepani is relatively short and can be completed in just a few hours. Along the way, we’ll be treated to breathtaking views of the majestic Dhaulagiri and Annapurna mountains. Passing through the charming Chitre village, we’ll eventually reach Ghorepani. This Gurung settlement is famous for its rich cultural heritage and offers spectacular vistas of the surrounding Himalayan peaks. We’ll spend the night here, immersing ourselves in the warmth of the local hospitality.

Day 11: Hike to Poonhill (3193m) and Trek to Mohare Danda
Today begins with an early morning hike to the renowned Poon Hill viewpoint, offering captivating views of the sunrise illuminating the Annapurna Himalayas. After soaking in the mesmerizing scenery, we’ll return to Ghorepani and commence our descent through the lush rhododendron forest towards Mohare Danda. This tranquil trail leads us to Mohare Danda in just a couple of hours, passing through Dhunge Gade Danda (3081m) along the way. From Mohare Danda, we’ll be treated to breathtaking vistas of the majestic Dhaulagiri and Annapurna peaks. We’ll spend the night here, surrounded by the serene beauty of the Himalayan landscape.

Day 12: Trek to Nangi (2040m)
During the trek from Nangi to Mohare, the trail winds its way along the scenic Sripu Danda, meandering through tranquil forests of oak and rhododendron. Throughout the journey, you’ll be treated to stunning views of iconic peaks such as Machhapuchhre (6997m) and Tukuche (6920m), as well as numerous other peaks in the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges. As you immerse yourself in the natural beauty of the surroundings, you’ll spend the night in Nangi, surrounded by the serene ambiance of the Himalayan landscape.

Day 13: Trek to Banskharka (1526m)
The journey from Nangi to Banskharka involves a pleasant downhill hike. Setting out after an early morning breakfast, you’ll gradually descend towards the charming village of Banskharka. Along the trail, you’ll be treated to picturesque views of mountain vistas, quaint landscapes, and delightful villages. Additionally, you’ll have the opportunity to visit an organic farm school and explore the fascinating Magar settlement along the way. As the day draws to a close, you’ll settle in for the night amidst the tranquil surroundings of Banskharka.

Day 14: Trek to Galeshwar, and Drive to Pokhara (820m)
Following a short trek from Banskharka, you’ll descend to Galeshwar village. Along the way, you’ll traverse through lush green forests and catch glimpses of the awe-inspiring Kali Gandaki gorge, known as one of the deepest gorges in the world. Upon reaching Galeshwar, you’ll embark on a scenic commute back to Pokhara, enjoying a 3 and a half hour drive along the Baglung Highway. Once in Pokhara, you can celebrate the completion of your trek with your guide and fellow team members. Overnight, you’ll stay at a comfortable hotel in Pokhara, relishing in the memories of your adventure.

Day 15: Drive to Kathmandu (1300m) and Farewell Dinner
Today marks the journey back to Kathmandu from Pokhara. As you traverse the roads, you’ll be treated to scenic views of the expansive Trishuli River, renowned for its rafting opportunities. Along the way, you’ll pass through charming villages, towns, and picturesque landscapes, with the backdrop of majestic hills and mountains. Upon arrival in Kathmandu, you’ll check into your hotel and later enjoy a farewell dinner hosted by the company, commemorating the completion of your adventure. Overnight, you’ll stay at a comfortable hotel in Kathmandu, reminiscing about the memorable moments of your trek.

Today marks the end of your journey in Nepal. Our representative will accompany you to the airport for your departure. To ensure a smooth travel experience, we’ll depart approximately 2 hours ahead of your scheduled flight time, allowing ample time to navigate any potential traffic congestion. As you head home, we hope you carry cherished memories of your time spent in Nepal and look forward to welcoming you back in the future. Safe travels!

What are the visa requirements?
Currently, all the foreign nationalities (except Indians) require a visa to enter Nepal. Visas are obtainable from embassies abroad or on arrival at Kathmandu’s Airport. If getting the visa at the airport be prepared for long queues. You will also need to provide one passport photo and the $50 USD fee for 30 days.

What are the physical requirements for Khopra Danda Trek?
Khopra Danda Trek requires you to trek at an altitude of maximum 3640m and up to 5-6 hours per day, with a small 5-7kg bag. We recommended you to train with long hikes and/or a sport of your choice (e.g. jogging).

How old do I need to be?
There is no age restriction for doing this trip, but if you are under 16 it will better to trek with your parents. You must be health-conscious during the trek.

What is the accommodation like?
You will stay in the Hotel while you are in the city of Kathmandu, which is like a 3-star category. The hotel has access to showers and intermittent internet.
But while you are in trekking Tea House/lodges are the place where you spend the night during the trek, which is very basic. The room is pretty small with twin sharing and a common washroom. Some places have squat style toilets, whilst others have a western style. Shower does not always offer warm water and most teahouses will charge you for use of a hot shower.

Which meals are included?
Meals will be served as per the menu of the teahouse/lodges. Where you can find a variety of dishes like Indian, Nepalese, Tibetan, Continental, etc, to choose. Tea, coffee, bakery items, snacks, bars eggs, etc can also be found easily.

What currency should I take?
The currency used in Nepal is Nepalese Rupees (NPR). You are unable to get NPR outside of Nepal and therefore you will need to exchange money in Kathmandu. The easiest currency to exchange is USD and Euro. You can also withdraw NPR from the ATM but check with your bank about the relevant charges to do this.

What kind of problems can arise at a higher altitude during Khopra Danda Trek?
There is huge change of AMS problem i.e. Acute Mountain Sickness problem. It may cause some problems as you trek higher above 3500-meter altitude (11,482 ft.). But don’t worry about that. We have carefully designed our Khopra Danda trek itinerary with sufficient time for acclimatization and less walking time each day. And our experienced trek guide will be helping you with it.

What is the best time of year for Khopra Danda trek?
Khopra Danda Trek is possible for the whole year, but the best time to doing this trek is spring season (March to June) and autumn season (September to November).
However trekking in winter season to chance to see snowfall with magnificent views of mountain, and in monsoon time you will see waterfalls.
